Personal Development Programme
Our approach:
Our Personal Development (PD) programme is designed to equip every pupil with the character, skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to thrive both within school and in their future lives. It is rooted in a whole school ethos of respect, aspiration, inclusion, and active participation. The programme brings together character education, wellbeing, safety, life skills, cultural capital, leadership, and experiential learning into one coherent and empowering offer.

Character & Values
We nurture strong moral character by teaching and modelling our PREP values: Perseverance, Respect, Excellence, and Partnership. These values underpin everything we do and help pupils develop a growth mindset, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning and life. Pupils are supported to persevere through challenges, show respect for themselves and others, strive for excellence, and work in partnership with peers, staff, and the wider community.
Examples include:
-
Celebrating difference and promoting inclusion (Autism Awareness, Anti-Bullying Week, Breaking Limits, Children in Need, Mental Health Awareness Day ).
-
School-wide kindness initiatives and recognition systems linked to the PREP values.
-
Opportunities for pupil leadership through the Pupil Parliament, Junior Travel Ambassadors, Eco Council, Games Crew, Mental Health Ambassadors modelling partnership and excellence.
-
Regular reflection on personal goals, our behaviour curriculum and how pupils demonstrate the PREP values in daily school life.
