Safeguarding
At Hayes Park School our top priority is to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our pupils.
As a school we have a full and active part to play in protecting pupils from harm. We believe that our school should provide a caring, positive and safe environment in which pupils can thrive and we aim to promote the social, physical and emotional wellbeing of each individual pupil.
We work hard to create trusting relationships so that our pupils feel safe to share their worries and concerns. In the case of a more serious concern we may need to consult with wider services and we aim to inform parents/carers of this at the earliest appropriate opportunity.
We will ensure that wherever possible we work in partnership with you and discuss our concerns unless we believe this may compromise safety or welfare.
The Safeguarding Team:

You can speak to any member of staff if you have a safeguarding concern. However, if you want to have a confidential conversation you may feel it more appropriate to speak with a designated member of our team.
Please pop into the school office or email a summary of your concern to: office@hayesparkschool.co.uk

Operation Encompass

As a school we are signed up to Operation Encompass, this is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse. Information Leaflet for Visitors to our School:
We expect everyone who visits our school to share in our commitment to excellent safeguarding practice. Below is the information we share with staff , volunteers and visitors when they arrive at our school. We also have a robust induction process to ensure that everyone is confident in our school safeguarding culture and procedures.

Teaching Safeguarding:

We use the Jigsaw curriculum to plan the teaching of key safeguarding themes throughout our school and this knowledge builds sequentially from our Early Years to Year 6.
We have chosen to use Jigsaw as it takes children and young people’s safety very seriously. It aims to equip them to lead safe, happy, healthy lives and to embrace the opportunities open to them to whilst keeping themselves safe, knowing their rights and responsibilities and where and how to ask for help when needed.
Below is an overview of what is taught at each stage across the school. Here you can see the key safeguarding and online safety themes covered:
